Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye? Not so for one former Ohio State football player during March Madness, who said he is rooting for Michigan in the NCAA men’s title game against UConn.
Former OSU wide receiver Jameson Williams sides with Michigan in Final Four
Jameson Williams started his college football career at Ohio State, but the wide receiver transferred to Alabama before the 2021 season as his playing time was expected to dwindle. Williams’ onetime teammate Justin Fields said in 2024 the Buckeyes were “playing” with the receiver for the way they used him in the offense, only using Williams to get other receivers open. Still, Williams eventually became a first-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions. And apparently, that’s where his heart lies.Several Lions players were asked who they were rooting for in the Final Four and the results shared on the team’s official Instagram account. Williams wears Honolulu blue with Detroit, and when it comes to college basketball in 2026, he sides with the maize and blue.
